Know your shadow. Don’t be afraid to sit with it. You’ll never get rid of a shadow. That’s not the point. Your shadow is a part of you. Get to know it so well that you don’t fear it. Learn to dance with it. Learn how to work with it and let it serve you. Everyone has a shadow. What’s yours? Everyone has fears. What are yours? Where did they come from? How do they affect what you’re willing to do or not do? How can you move past them? Press beyond them? Everyone has limitations—mostly self-imposed. Because there’s always a way for the willing if you want it enough. How can you break out of yours? Move beyond them? All this breaking out and breaking through might sound like pushing, might sound kind of violent. But often, it’s way more disruptive because it looks like and feels like sitting, listening, waiting. Waiting for someone or something to fall away—usually someone or something on the inside. Freedom is an internal process—and one that you have within you. What do you need to find your own freedom? Listen to whatever it is that you feel is enslaving you. Perhaps paradoxically, that’s where a lot of your freedom is rooted. If you feel restricted today, stop and listen to your own internal dialogue. Listen to your own narratives. What do you tell yourself about yourself? What do you tell yourself about other people that’s got nothing to do with them? That’s not based on your experiences with them? Listen to your shadow – it might look like arms reaching to get you. In reality, it’s a part of you clearing the way to help you keep going deeper. Don’t be afraid to create room for your own depth today. Ache 🙏🏼
